MOA Awards Para of the Year

Eligibility:

1. 1. All nominees must be members of the Missouri Optometric Association Paraoptometric Section for at least 2 years.
   2. The nomination must be submitted by one of the following:
      1. State, regional, or local paraoptometric or optometric organization.
      2. AOA and/or MOA member optometrist.

Criteria:

1. Patient Care and Customer Service
2. Professionalism and Integrity
3. Teamwork and Leadership
4. Professional Growth
5. Impact on the Profession

Procedure:

1. The nomination must be submitted to the Chair of the Awards and Nomination Committee.
2. The nomination must be submitted on the official form with a typewritten substantiation letter, attached to the application.
3. Nomination may be submitted in future years.

The judges will select the “Paraoptometric of the Year” based on the following criteria:

1. Service to Optometry and to the Paraoptometric Association
   1. Contributions of personal effort and time on behalf of the profession's advancement.
   2. Service as an officer, committee chairperson, or member of other organizations.
   3. Promotion of the Association’s goals and programs.
   4. Activity in the support of the Association’s projects.
   5. e. Involvement in public information activities.
2. Public Service
   1. Service to education.
   2. Service to community.
   3. Service to religious or service institutions.
   4. Service to charitable causes.
