MOA Award Criteria and Guidelines

YOUNG OPTOMETRIST OF THE YEAR

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The nominee must be a MOA member for a minimum of two (2) years.
  2. The nominee must be nominated by an individual MOA member or an optometric society.
  3. The nominee must be in active optometric practice less than ten years. Age is not a criterion for this award.

Procedure:

  1. Nominations must be submitted online.
  2. 2. Supplemental information (letters of recommendation, curricula vitae) may be uploaded.
  3. Nomination of a nominee in any given year does not preclude future nominations of the same nominee.
  4. Completed nomination forms must be received by the MOA by September 1st.
  5. The MOA Young Optometrist of the Year Award will be presented at the annual MOA convention.
  6. In the event that a suitable nominee is not selected by the judging committee, no award will be given that year.
